Faith & Service
Spiritual Life
Grace Christian School is a Christ-centered family where faith is at the heart of all we do.
We believe that spiritual growth is essential to the full development of every student. An education that does not nurture a student’s walk with the Lord is incomplete. At Grace, students grow in their biblical knowledge and understanding of Christ not only in chapels and Bible classes, but also as His truth is woven throughout academics, athletics, fine arts, and service.
From middle school through graduation, students are encouraged to deepen their relationship with the Lord, ask questions, and seek answers through Scripture. Our faculty and staff are committed to walking alongside students, mentoring them in both faith and character. Grace is built on relationships-between students, families, and teachers-and these connections extend far beyond the classroom.
Service is also central to who we are. Students are taught to use their gifts in service to others, living out their faith as the hands and feet of Christ in our school, our community, and the world.
Spiritual Formation
Grace Christian School believes that spiritual formation is central to the Christian school experience. From middle school through high school, our students engage in a structured Bible curriculum designed to deepen their knowledge of God's Word and strengthen their walk with Christ.
- In grades 6 and 7, students study the stories of the Old Testament.
- In grades 8 and 9, the focus shifts to the stories of the New Testament.
- In grade 10, students complete an Old Testament survey.
- In grade 11, students complete a New Testament survey.
- In grade 12, students study Biblical Ethics, applying Scripture to real-world questions and challenges.
Chapel
At Grace Christian School, chapel is an important part of our weekly rhythm of worship and discipleship. Students gather every Monday for a time of worship and teaching, and parents are always welcome to attend in person or join us via livestream.
Throughout the year, we invite youth pastors from many of the churches represented in our student body to share God's Word and encourage our students. Chapel is led each week by our Chapel Director, Heather Ferguson, who faithfully organizes this ministry and partners with visiting pastors to bring messages of biblical truth.
Worship is led by our high school student worship band, giving students the opportunity to use their gifts to glorify God and serve their peers. Chapel is more than a weekly gathering-it is a time for our entire Grace family to grow together in faith, deepen our love for Christ, and be equipped to live boldly for Him.
Mission Opportunities
At Grace Christian School, service is at the heart of who we are. We are committed to providing students with opportunities to serve their community, participate in evangelism, and engage in missions both locally and beyond.
Grace partners with a number of mission organizations, including RVA Hope Center in Richmond, to give students meaningful experiences in sharing the love of Christ. Each year, students are exposed to service opportunities that allow them to be the hands and feet of Jesus-whether by meeting practical needs, encouraging others, or proclaiming the gospel.
