Grace Christian School is a member of the Virginia Metro Athletic Conference (VMAC), the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA), and has over fifteen competitive sports teams.
Building Character Through Competition
Middle and high school athletic competitions play an important role in our national culture. It is not uncommon for parents and students to share an interest in participation in sports. Athletics provide a valuable opportunity to foster responsibility and cultivate leadership skills in students-qualities that also serve them well in future endeavors, including college applications.
At Grace Christian School, we believe athletics are more than just games; they are an extension of our mission to develop the whole person in Christ. On the field and court, students learn perseverance, humility in victory, grace in defeat, and integrity in all competition. Our goal is not only excellence in skill and teamwork but also to reflect Christ in attitude and action.
Just as in the classroom, GCS is committed to excellence within our athletic department. Concentration will be given toward health, physical development, leadership, perseverance, and integrity, all grounded in the greater purpose of honoring God through our efforts. In every practice and every competition, we desire that our athletes demonstrate what it means to “do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).
